How we work together.
Plain-English ground rules for every Scoritz project — what to expect from us, what we’ll ask of you, and how money, time and changes are handled. Last updated 30 June 2026.
The proposal is the contract
After our discovery call we send a written proposal: scope, deliverables, timeline and a fixed price. Accepting it (by email or signed PDF) forms our agreement. No separate master services contract unless you specifically ask for one.
Payments
Two ways to pay for a website. Subscribe, and the build, hosting and ongoing care come as one monthly fee with nothing large up front — this website plan runs for a minimum of twelve months, then month to month with 30 days’ notice, and cancelling inside that first year brings the remaining months of the minimum term due. Or pay outright: 50% on kick-off and 50% on launch, with larger projects taking a deposit to book the slot first. Either way it’s a service, not credit or a payment plan: no interest, no fees. All prices exclude VAT, added at the prevailing rate (currently 20%). Standalone monthly services — hosting and care, or social media management — are rolling and priced on their own merits, and you can stop them with 30 days’ notice; pay any monthly plan a year ahead and two months are free. Monthly fees are taken automatically by card through Stripe; one-off payments — a deposit, an outright balance, or a year paid in advance — are by bank transfer. Invoices are due within 14 days. Late payments past 30 days may pause work and accrue interest at the Bank of England base rate plus 4%, as allowed under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Timelines
We give you a clear timeline up front and stick to it. Projects assume reasonably timely feedback (within five working days at each review). If feedback stalls past 30 days the project pauses and resumption may require rescheduling.
What we need from you
Copy, logos and photography (or a clear brief if you want us to source them). One nominated decision-maker for sign-offs. Honest, timely feedback — the more direct, the better the result.
Changes to scope
We keep refining the design until you’re happy with it. If you want something genuinely new, a feature or a direction that wasn’t in the original brief, we’ll quote that separately and agree it with you before starting.
Ownership & handover
However you pay, the site is yours — we don’t hold work hostage. On an outright project, all bespoke design and code we produce becomes yours on final payment. On a subscription, it’s yours to keep once the twelve-month minimum is met; if you move on, we hand over a clean export, admin access, your backups and any DNS records you need, so you can host it wherever you like. We retain the right to show the work in our portfolio and case studies. Third-party assets (fonts, stock imagery, plugins) remain under their own licences, and any social or Google Business accounts we set up are created in your name from the start.
Confidentiality
Anything you share that isn’t public — strategy, finances, unreleased products — stays confidential by default. Happy to sign a separate NDA if you need one.
Liability
We don’t cap liability for anything the law won’t let us (negligence causing injury, fraud, etc.). For everything else our liability on a project is capped at the fees paid for that project in the prior 12 months. We carry professional indemnity insurance — certificate available on request.
Disputes & governing law
We’d rather pick up the phone than escalate. If we can’t resolve something amicably, English law applies and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] before signing and we’ll explain or adjust.
